Anchor Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Anchor, published by FCT Technologies LLC. They sit under the FCT Technologies terms of service, which cover the FCT account and the systems every FCT app shares.

Using Anchor

Anchor saves the lines worth keeping and, unlike a notes file, keeps where each one came from. Using it requires an FCT account, which stores your quotes so they reach every device you sign in on.

You are responsible for what you put into the app and for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not use Anchor to store anything you are not entitled to store.

Quoting other people’s work

Anchor is a personal commonplace book. You are responsible for making sure that saving, and any later use you make of, a passage from a book, film, article or recording is permitted by the copyright in that work. Anchor does not grant you any rights in material you save, and saving a passage here is not publication.

Anchor never attributes a line by itself. A source is attached only when you mark it explicitly, or when a transcript you hold verifies it. Where no source is recorded, none is shown.

What it costs

Anchor is free to use. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. If that changes, these Terms will change with it and the date above will move.

Availability

We aim to keep Anchor and its sync service working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. What is already on your device stays readable when the service is unreachable.

Your data

Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. You may delete this app’s data, or your entire FCT account, from within the app at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
