Homestead Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Homestead, published by FCT Technologies LLC. They sit under the FCT Technologies terms of service, which cover the FCT account and the systems every FCT app shares.

Using Homestead

Homestead builds a room-by-room record of what you own, from a walkthrough you narrate and photograph, and exports it as a document you can hand to an insurer. Using it requires an FCT account, which stores the inventory so it survives the loss of any one device.

You are responsible for what you put into the app and for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not use Homestead to store anything you are not entitled to store.

Not an appraisal, and not insurance advice

Homestead is a record you keep, not a valuation. Any value in it is a figure you entered or accepted, not an appraisal, and the PDF it produces is your own document rather than a certified inventory. Whether your insurer accepts it, what your policy covers, and what a claim is worth are entirely between you and your insurer. Check your own policy, and keep a copy of anything you would need after a loss somewhere other than the affected property.

Homestead Pro

Homestead is free to use for up to 25 counted items, and the core loop of walking a room and recording what is in it is never paywalled.

Homestead Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly and yearly, with a free trial for new subscribers. Current pricing is shown in the App Store before you purchase, in your local currency.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

If your subscription lapses, you keep full access to everything already in the app. The limit applies to adding more items, never to viewing or editing what is already there. PDF export is a Pro feature and stops working when a subscription lapses; your inventory does not.

Availability

We aim to keep Homestead and its sync service working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. What is already on your device stays readable when the service is unreachable.

Your data

Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. You may delete this app’s data, or your entire FCT account, from within the app at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
