Manila Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Manila, published by FCT Technologies LLC. They sit under the FCT Technologies terms of service, which cover the FCT account and the systems every FCT app shares.

Using Manila

Manila scans household paperwork and turns it into something you can ask Siri about, with reminders before a renewal or an expiry falls due. Using it requires an FCT account, which stores your documents so they reach every device you sign in on.

You are responsible for what you put into the app and for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not use Manila to store anything you are not entitled to store.

Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee

The deadline is yours to meet. Manila reads dates out of documents you scan, and a date can be misread, missing, or changed by the issuer after you scanned it. A reminder may also fail to arrive because notifications were off, the device was asleep, or the app was not permitted to run. Treat every reminder as a helpful nudge and never as the thing standing between you and an expired policy, registration or warranty.

Not legal, tax, insurance or financial advice

Manila stores and organizes documents. It does not interpret them, advise you on what they mean, or tell you what to do about them. For that, ask a qualified professional.

Extraction that leaves the device

Reading a document happens on your device by default. The deep scan is off unless you turn it on, and it escalates a document to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute where that is available. What each tier does with your document is described in the Privacy Policy.

What it costs

Manila is free to use. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. If that changes, these Terms will change with it and the date above will move.

Availability

We aim to keep Manila and its sync service working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. What is already on your device stays readable when the service is unreachable.

Your data

Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. You may delete this app’s data, or your entire FCT account, from within the app at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
