Quick answers

Where is my library stored?

On your device and in your own private space in your FCT account, so it reaches every device you sign in on: what you are tracking, what you have watched and rated, your scheduled viewings, and the feedback you gave a suggestion. Marquee requires an FCT account: there is no signed-out mode.

Do my searches go to a third party?

Catalog reads do, by necessity: a title lookup reaches TMDB, relayed through a proxy FCT operates so the API credential never ships inside the app. When ratings are available, the detail screen also asks OMDb about a title by its IMDb id. Those requests carry the title being looked up and nothing about who you are, no account identifier and no library contents.

What happens when I identify a movie from a screenshot?

The image is read on your device first. If it is too hard to read, and only then, Marquee sends it to Apple's Private Cloud Compute for a second look: Apple's own private infrastructure, not a third-party AI service and not ours. The title that comes back is checked against TMDB, and the entry it adds syncs to your account.

Why does Marquee want my calendar and contacts?

Both are optional and narrow. Calendar access lets Marquee add your scheduled viewings and keep an event in step when you move or cancel one. Contacts is used only to show a viewing companion's avatar when you typed a name rather than picked the person: choosing someone from the contact picker needs no access at all.

Does Marquee collect analytics?

There is no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising identifier and no cross-app tracking. Marquee does report anonymous diagnostics to FCT, crash and performance data, a trail of screen and action names (never content), and feature-use counts, keyed to a random install identifier that is joined to no account and carries nothing you typed, viewed or stored.
