Scope Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of Scope, published by FCT Technologies LLC. They sit under the FCT Technologies terms of service, which cover the FCT account and the systems every FCT app shares.

Using Scope

Scope turns a walkthrough you narrate and photograph into a structured estimate built from your own price book, and keeps your customers, jobs and estimates where Siri can reach them. Using it requires an FCT account, which stores your work so it reaches every device you sign in on.

You are responsible for what you put into the app and for keeping your account credentials secure. Do not use Scope to store anything you are not entitled to store.

The bid is yours

Scope never invents a price. Every figure it produces comes from the price book you built, and every estimate is a draft until you review it and send it. Once you send it, the number, the scope of work and the commitment are entirely yours: Scope is the tool that drafted the document, never a party to the agreement between you and your customer. Check every line before it leaves your hands.

A voice walkthrough can be misheard, and a photograph can be misread. Confirm what the app extracted against the job in front of you.

Not legal, contractual, tax or licensing advice

An estimate produced in Scope is not a contract drafted for you, and nothing in the app tells you what your jurisdiction requires of a contractor’s bid, your licensing, your insurance, your lien rights or your tax treatment. Those are yours to get right, with a qualified professional where you need one.

Your customers’ information

Scope holds information about your customers, which makes you responsible for handling it lawfully, including any consent your local law requires before you record their details or photograph their property.

What it costs

Scope is free to use. There is no subscription and no in-app purchase. If that changes, these Terms will change with it and the date above will move.

Availability

We aim to keep Scope and its sync service working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. What is already on your device stays readable when the service is unreachable.

Your data

Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy. You may delete this app’s data, or your entire FCT account, from within the app at any time.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
